Objectives

As outlined in our application form, and as you already know Ofensiva Tinerilor has been dedicated to the cause of encouraging diversity and combating prejudice for the past 16 years, working tirelessly on both local and European fronts. While we've celebrated some achievements, it's concerning that survey data from the Arad region in Romania for 2018 and 2019 revealed disturbing levels of exclusion and bias among young people, with media playing a significant role in shaping their attitudes. Ongoing research echoes these findings, indicating persistent issues of exclusion and bullying based on perceived differences, a trend consistent with UNESCO's observations in Europe. These challenges are not confined to Arad but signify a broader surge in extremism and negative prejudices across the continent. In response, our mission has evolved to provide vital support to young people in embracing diversity and advancing social justice through anti-bias education workshops. Our programs have yielded significant changes in attitudes and behaviours. To sustain and expand our work, we aim to strengthen cross-border collaborations, sharing our knowledge while learning from others, with the ultimate goal of benefiting more European youth and promoting inclusivity, diversity, and solidarity. Our organization has made a steadfast commitment to addressing urgent concerns affecting European youth, including discrimination, oppression, high incidences of bullying, the exclusion of young individuals with disabilities, and shortcomings in the education system. Discriminatory behaviour remains prevalent among youth, impacting as many as 50% of them based on factors such as religion, gender, ethnicity, race, disability, or sexual orientation. Bullying, including cyberbullying, is a significant issue, affecting over 30% of local youth. Young people with disabilities often face significant barriers to participation in youth activities. Moreover, schools frequently fall short in promoting tolerance, equality, and essential life skills. To confront these challenges, our objective is to promote peer education, empower young individuals, and enhance the capabilities of organizations that serve youth throughout Europe, thereby establishing a network of advocates for social justice and anti-discrimination efforts. The key objectives we have established for these 15 months encompass: Promoting inclusion and diversity, encouraging intercultural dialogue, and fostering the values of solidarity and tolerance among at least 300 young individuals, including at least 20 with disabilities, from a minimum of 10 European countries. Empowering at least 50 young individuals, including 15 engaged at the local level in Arad, to actively participate in the promotion of inclusion and diversity, intercultural dialogue, and the values of solidarity and tolerance among 300 of their peers. Enhancing the quality of youth work at the local level in communities across a minimum of 10 European countries by building the capacity of at least 20 organizations and 20 youth workers to promote inclusion and diversity, intercultural dialogue, and the values of solidarity and tolerance.
