Objectives

Our organization collaborates with talented and creative young people who are participating as volunteers in our different youth workshops such as Readers’ club, dance workshops, theatre workshop, writers’ meeting, music workshop, etc. They came up with that problem: in the formal education system they are taught what to say, have been learning loads of theories, spending hours and hours to learn facts and data, however, they feel that they loose their creativity and imagination, they feel being lost in the text instead of living it. They will finish their high school, university or college studies soon and being afraid to find a job, to go to a job interview, to write a motivation letter, because they do not know how to behave, react or act in a job interview for example. They have lots of theoretical knowledge, nevertheless, their entrepreneurial skills, soft skills, transversal skills are weak, such as critical thinking, communication skills, improvisation skills, self-esteem, self-confidence, organising skills, logical thinking, etc. Although, they enjoy participating in our youth workshops as it boost their creativity and imagination and gives them freedom to explore themselves, their strengths and weaknesses and how to improve their personality and gain more experiences regarding social and business life. They just identified the need to participate more such type of activities where they can improve their employability competences through creative and innovative non-formal methods that they are interested in to use such as storytelling, theatre, drawings, etc. Then we made a survey of young and creative people in our country that are they thinking about it and if this problem affects them too. We also asked our old partners to do the same in their countries in order to evaluate the actuality and importance of it. The result was that almost all these young people have such problems. So, we came to mind that we have to help write a project with those talented youth in order to support them, our creative volunteers were very happy with this idea, and fully been involved in the process of writing the project. The volunteers who came to us with this problem and the volunteers of our partners helped us to formulate the following problems and challenges through online and offline surveys, and informal discussions during our workshops between September 2021 – January 2022: - lack of entrepreneurial competences for employability of young people such as critical thinking, self-confidence, improvisation, communication skills, organisational skills, sense of initiatives, etc. - lack of imagination and creativity - lack of values and norms that can be learn from tales - lack of knowledge how to realize potential; - lack of knowledge about different programs, training which can help youth to promote themselves; - problems with self-esteem; - limited access to resources such as informational, material, communicational; - lack of support and encouragement. The overall aim of the project was to understand the place of imagination and creativity in our business and social life at that time. It aimed to work on the importance of improving individuals' creativity, to search for the origins of tales, to find ways to adapt the tales again to our daily lives and to use them as a tool for creativity. The project aimed to create a "project tale" with the collaboration of all participants in our project and also to present this tale as a theatrical performance. In the end, the project aimed to create a Talebook for the public. The objectives of the youth exchange were as follows: Developed soft skills of participants in order to fight against unemployment. Boosted creativity and entrepreneurship skills. Understood the place of imagination and creativity in our business and social life. Presented the tales in order to find ways to adapt them again to our daily lives and used them as a tool for improving creativity. Created a project fairy tale, which was presented as a theatrical performance. Created a project Talebook, which was used to share the project results with a wide audience. Prevented unemployment among youth, provided entrepreneurship opportunities among young people, and provided them with intercultural learning. Raised awareness of the Erasmus + Programme, non-formal education, and Youthpass. The methodology of the youth exchange was based on non-formal learning methods. It was learner-centered, and young people were involved throughout each phase of the project through participatory methodology. Each participant and national team brought their favorite cultural fairy tale, legend, tale, etc., and they used these to explore their entrepreneurial and creativity skills through creative youth work methods and techniques. Participants were supported to explore their transversal skills through tales, acting, painting, and black out poetry and how to use these in their social and business lives.
