We initiated the project "Debatable Me" to bring together young people reluctant to sensitive social issues, providing them with a protected environment where they can honestly and openly approach these issues. topics through debates. The aim was to encourage them to get involved in social issues that affect them directly or indirectly. By creating connections and exchanges of ideas, young people have a better chance great to develop their skills and understand the world they live in, being aware of several areas such as interculturality, discrimination (racial, religious, gender, etc.) and Policy. EU statistics from 2017 highli ght that, among the countries addressed, Romania has the highest rate (35.7%) of people at risk of poverty or social exclusion, followed by Greece, Lithuania and Hungary. These figures and the differences between countries with regard to poverty and social exclusion are a valid subject of debate One of the main issues Addressed in this project is the consequence of young people who do not participate in public debates. It is essential to encourage young people to discuss society's problems in order to devel op critical thinking and become more resistant to the judgment of others. A major cause of their reluctance is the fear of being judged and rejected by peers, parents, or generally company. Formal education offers limited opportunities for young people to debate these issues, with debate competitions involving only the best students. The consequences of this problem manifest themselves both emotionally and on a practical level, young people feeling excluded, alone, facing signs of depression and anxiety an d, in some cases, having difficulty finding or maintaining a job suitable for their needs. The aim of our project was to increase the participation and integration into democratic life of 35 young people from Romania, Hungary, Spain, Greece and Lithuania, teaching them the principles and steps of intercultural debates until the end of the project.
