By implementing the project, we wanted to raise environmental awareness for all participants involved directly and indirectly in the project, increase the frequency of STEAM activities inside and outside the school, raise the interest of teachers and students in all STEAM subjects and also to involve them in order to gain competences in STEAM subjects, develop the cooperation, collaboration, peer-learning and socio-emotional skills of students, but also of teachers by implementing a set of peer activities in order to achieve those, increase the level of knowledge in English language, to learn a set of words and vocabulary related to the topic included in the project, include min. 20 % students with lesser chances (social, economical, geographical), create a set of environmental informative materials and presentations (presentations realized by the students being supervised by teachers) , develop an eco-friendly attitude necessary to continue the work started by implementing the project, raise the ICT competences by being involved in numerous activities that required technology and digital knowledge for both students and teachers, gain information about other cultures, by travelling in those countries, students and teachers.
The idea of the project was to sensitize students to current environmental problems of on local and global levels and to increase their environmental awareness through creating opportunities to experience, compare and share the knowledge with other people. The schools involved wanted to improve their educational offer and at the same time to create better living conditions through actions promoting sustainable attitudes (ecological and economic). They also promoted certain technological solutions applied in the environment protection. Observations showing that most environmental problems, can have their solutions. The project allowed for presentation and experiencing numbers of interesting and involving for students activities dealing with the above issues. During local work and in mobilities partners taught the students about environmental changes, their reasons, actions, methodologies and techniques applied in environment protection. They also taught necessary ICT and presentation skills. They improved teachers pedagogical skills. Thanks to giving the project and international dimension, partners could achieve even more results in teaching about environmental issues and achieve their objectives.
