Background

The project "My school gives me wings!" was born from the desire to respond to the need of students who belong to vulnerable groups to be integrated and valued in schools, so that they enjoy real chances of development. The need for the project, ensuring the inclusion of students from vulnerable groups and combating the phenomenon of bullying in schools resulted from the analyses, statistics, reports drawn up at the level of the schools involved in the project, as well as from studies by specialists who indicated that bullying is a worrying phenomenon that manifests itself especially among primary and secondary school students. In all three schools involved in the project, it was observed that, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the phenomenon of aggression, violence, hate speech, exclusion among students increased, the victims being especially students who came from vulnerable groups. Also, the refugee crisis in Ukraine represented a new challenge for schools that were put in the position of receiving refugee students who needed to be helped, integrated, treated with tolerance, so that they are not exposed to attitudes of isolation, rejection , because they could be perceived as "different" by the majority of students
