Objectives

The project aimed to achieve the following objectives: 1. Empowering youth workers. The project enhanced youth workers' competences to use innovative art-based methods and microlearning principles for addressing European topics, especially tackling Euroscepticism among youth with a focus on youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. 2. Countering Euroscepticism. The project activities increased youth interest in European social, cultural, and political issues while promoting shared values, civic engagement, and participation in decision-making at all levels. Also, the project fostered inclusion by encouraging the engagement of disadvantaged youth with European topics, fostering their sense of belonging and active citizenship. 3. Strengthening cooperation. The project enhanced the capacity of partner organizations to deliver high-quality, innovative youth activities by integrating art-based methods and microlearning in their current activities, supporting democratic participation and civic initiatives. By achieving these objectives, the project promoted inclusion, active citizenship, and a stronger European identity among young people through innovative tools and methods.

Background

The „EU for YOUth” project was developed to tackle the growing challenge of Euroscepticism and the rise of extremist movements threatening democratic values, civil liberties, and youth participation. Identifying a lack of accessible tools for youth workers to address these issues, we aimed to bridge this gap. Our vision was to equip youth workers with innovative methods that foster engagement with EU values. By integrating art, non-formal education, and microlearning, we made European topics more accessible, especially for youth with fewer opportunities. Art-based methods were chosen for their proven impact on civic engagement, community cohesion, and social inclusion, particularly among disadvantaged youth. Thus, ”EU for YOUth” provides innovative and accessible resources that empower youth workers and inspire young people to explore European identity, unity, diversity, and related themes.
