The project had two main objectives. The first was to equip the staff responsible for planning activities of the Center, with the knowledge and skills to think creatively about the planning process, opening up new possibilities for development. The second objective was to enhance the awareness of teachers and staff about the potential of distance learning and the use of digital technologies in informal education. The long-term goal is to offer a range of fully online courses, which is a common practice in Europe and around the world but is currently limited in Serbia. The project seeks to rectify this gap, starting by introducing teachers to ICT tools to facilitate the creation of attractive and innovative adult education courses. This knowledge is expected to change the mindset of teachers, encouraging them to see the value of delivering knowledge through these modern methods. As the fourth-largest city in Serbia, Kragujevac deserves a modern educational center that not only supports economic development through vocational training but also caters to the diverse educational needs of the local community.
The Secondary Vocational School, a reputable institution dedicated to education, has been at the forefront of sharing knowledge and skills in various fields of study for many years. In line with our commitment to lifelong learning and reaching a broader audience, we created the Center for Continuing Adult Education as a separate division within our school. This Center plays a crucial role in expanding our educational outreach to adults who want to improve their skills, knowledge, and career prospects. Our decision to participate in the Erasmus+ program was motivated by our eagerness to broaden our international perspective, strengthen our partnerships, enrich the educational opportunities we offer, and acquire valuable knowledge from the training sessions within the project. We view Erasmus+ as a gateway to cross-cultural exchange, collaboration, and innovation in adult education.
