During the different professional occasions, meetings, management of the APES realized that there is an increase of the number of the pupils on the inclusion that choose Spanish language as a second language. Also, we realized that no Spanish language teacher have ever finished a course dedicated specially for those pupils on the inclusion and specially pupils who choose Spanish language as a second foreign language. First, we had an viber survey and then we conducted survey via Google forms. Those results, presented in our application form, showed us the problems teachers are faced with in the process of teaching Spanish as a foreign language the the pupils with special needs. Also, the results showed us the number between 60 and 70 pupils on the inclusion and between 15 and 20 teachers, our members, involved in this very important education with no previous preparation or course dedicated to this sensitive topic. The main objective of this project is improvement of teaching skills of teachers who work with the pupils on inclusion. No such a training/course has been organized for Spanish language teachers in Serbia. The project had an impact on teaching staff and on the educational institutions thanks to the organized workshops.
The main objectives and activities related to the objectives of our organizations are: promotion of the education and the culture, promotion of our profession, international cooperation, teacher-training courses and capacity building of our members (trough accredited seminars, round tables, conferences, etc.), professional development of teaching staff and translators. The association tends to be a hub for the Spanish language teachers in Serbia and tends to organize and facilitate all the necessary activities/courses/meetings/conferences/seminars/projects in order to improve teaching skills necessary for the 21st century teachers. The association also keeps going with the novelties and challenges and tries to prepare and help teachers for new teaching surroundings. As the necessities change our activities and topics are changing in order to provide professional support to our members. We are proud of the fact that we gather teachers from Serbia that are working on the different level of the education - from the elementary school until the university, but also we include teachers that are working in the private academies of foreign languages in different cities.
