Objectives

We wanted to implement new innovative methodologies in all subjects together with effective and safe use of digital apps which will boost students learning environment. We want to apply inclusive student-centred learning, fostering students’ motivation, participation and creativity through project-based,non-formal and experiential learning activities. We want more for our pupils,to motivate and engage them proactively in the process of learning, abandon the traditional teaching/learning and enable pupils to obtain functional knowledge. We need to improve teachers and management competences andattitudes towards accepting new approaches and digital trends so they can transfer it to the pupils in the classroom andschool as a whole.Another objective is also to make our school modern and part of the European education communitythrough cooperation, exchange of good practice and collaborative work with other European schools, with main focus on eTwinning, school partnerships, and similar programmes

Background

Our learners are 7 to15 year olds, attending grades form 1 to 8 in 30 classes,in 1 main and 3 village schools, including thespecial needs students(2%),accompanied in lessons by personal assistants and those who need special support.2% of thestudents are Roma population and migrant pupils, therefore we try to foster tolerance and diversity awareness in everydaypractice. The school operates in the poorest region of our country, crucuially affecting the students chances for education andlife prospects. Most of the them come from complex socio-economic, dysfunctional family backgrounds, resulting in a mixedability, low motivation, weak achievement classroom setting and lack of use of ICT as means of learning, cooperation andresearch. The different structure of our pupils require different approaches, methodologies, support. This is a great challengefor teachers to manage and organize their classes and motivate and engage each pupil to participate in the activities torealize their full potential
