In addition to good cooperation with local companies in the process of dual education, our European development plan opens up additional opportunities for all our students - to get to know European values, to gain insight into the achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and to be able to continuously improve knowledge and skills for the 21st century through lifelong learning. After the external evaluation report of the School at the beginning of 2023, the long-term action plan envisages some of the activities that are relevant to this project, but our primary objectives expressed in the application remained unchanged. These objectives are: Training 24 students for CAD/CAM design and prototyping on 3D printers and CNC machines, assembling samples and testing assembled devices; Networking with hosting companies by building on knowledge and experience from other countries; Raising the quality of the practical education in the school.
Our school was founded in 1877 as a gymnasium. Since 2005, it has been integrated with the School of Mechanical Engineering and since then has been operating as a mixed High school "Svilajnac", with general education and vocational education and training programs. Our students are aged 15 to 19. Since 2017, the School has been conducting dual education and currently educates a total of 298 students with its 39 teachers, of which 168 students, more than 56%, are enrolled in dual education programs. In mechanical and electrical engineering, VET programs for mechatronics technicians, industrial mechanics, locksmith-welders and cutting machine operators are being implemented this school year, so these students had the right to apply for participation in mobility. Among the potential participants are one student who is educated according to an individual educational program, students of Roma, Vlach and Bulgarian ethnicity, and students who come from economically disadvantaged families or who have never travelled abroad. The school has a permanent problem of attracting girls to VET education programs, there were a total of 7 of them in the current school year. The school had no previous experience in implementing Erasmus+ projects.
