Our primary aim was to further enrich the international dimension of the education we provide by offering our employees an opportunity for professional development within an international context. The participants were expected to share good practices gained abroad with their colleagues at the Academy, thus facilitating the internationalisation at home, envisaged in our internationalisation strategy. We expected them to contribute to the quality of our study programmes through the transfer of knowledge on innovative curricula and teaching methods. Non-teaching staff members were encouraged to apply in order to improve the knowledge and skills needed for the implementation of international projects through the transfer of knowledge on the practices developed by institutions more experienced in this regard. The participants were encouraged to get to know how other mobility types, e.g. KA 171, are implemented so that we can start applying for them in the future. The aim was also to widen the network of foreign contacts, and increase the possibilities of future cooperation with the host institution in other types of Erasmus+ projects. Given that our students mostly come from underdeveloped areas, we wanted to encourage them to embark on a completely new experience of studying and doing their traineeship abroad. We truly hoped that such an experience would boost their self-confidence and motivation for personal development in the first place, but also raise their awareness of different cultures and increase their tolerance for cultural differences. They were expected to improve their professional knowledge and foreign language literacy, as well as sharpen their soft skills, which would improve their competitiveness on the labour market.
