My objectives with the project were to strengthen the interest in modern languages and Spanish among the students at the school, especially level 1 and 2. Much focus is on English, but the interest in modern languages must not decrease among, for example, vocational students, which is the case at our school. Through this project where I met teachers from mainly Spain, but also a couple of school classes, we see potential to build on with students from stage 3 and above. We see that this type of project would create greater motivation among language learners, as well as those who are considering choosing modern languages as an individual choice. The methods I set up to evaluate my goals with the project have been fulfilled as I got more tools to use in especially the communicative teaching. Green travel has not been able to be implemented on such a short course in southern Spain. However, priority was given to choosing a bus or walking for transport within the towncentre of Malaga. Blended mobility was used by the language school before arrival for level placement (test and interview).
The background for the project is continuing education for language teachers. Hultsfred's High School has some experience with Erasmus+ regarding KA1 VET and school exchanges. As a language teacher, I see a need to constantly improve my education and believe that the best school is to do it in the country where the language is spoken. As a Spanish teacher, it is important to motivate your students and to find modern methods of teaching. Since Malaca Instituto has a good reputation for both adults and students, I felt confident that this option was best for the purpose of learning from talented and experienced language teachers. The secondary target group is my students where we are planning to build up a mobility exchange with a school in Spain. Likewise, the planning includes applying for accreditation.
