Halmstad University’s (HU) vision is to add value, drive innovation, and prepare individuals and society for the future. Engaging in study or training abroad enables students, teachers, and staff to develop their professional, social, and intercultural competencies, thereby enhancing their global perspectives and employability. Statistics show that higher education students who take part in a mobility period abroad are more likely to secure employment within one year after graduation. European ministers last year committed to increasing the proportion of higher education students completing a study or training period abroad to 25 percent by 2030. Consequently, support for mobility through Erasmus+ is crucial to achieving this ambitious target. To enhance mobility at Halmstad University, we aim to cultivate closer long-term strategic relationships, including student and teaching mobility. Through the Erasmus program and strategic partnerships, we can achieve increased outgoing student mobility and foster internationalization at home by welcoming incoming exchange students and integrating international perspectives into education through teaching mobility. As Halmstad University has, together with the partners in our European alliance HEROES, been approved to build a European university, many new opportunities will arise. The project's overall objectives align with the key goals outlined in HU’s Erasmus Policy Statements for the program period 2021-2027 and the development plan for internationalization 2021-2025 at HU.
