Objectives

Overall Erasmus+ is of great importance for participating individuals and organisations. Mobility of learners and staff as well as cooperation partnerships enable individuals to grow and gain valuable experience and knowledge about the EU and Europe. Erasmus+ contributes to increased internationalization and the development of individuals and organisations. As mentioned in our Erasmus Policy Statement, the European Education Area (EEA) addresses issues that are much in line with the mission of Örebro University; lifelong learning, digital skills, inclusive education, and the European University. By participating in Erasmus 2021-2027, we engage in the EEA initiatives to contribute to the strengthening of European education. Erasmus+ has given us opportunities to realize many of the elements that we identified in our Erasmus policy statement and has acted as a pivotal catalyst in the work we have begun with our partners within our European University, NEOLAiA. Being able to participate in a mobility strengthens students, staff members/teachers on a personal level, but it also contributes to Örebro University's development as an organization, both on an overall and departmental level. It also helps to strengthen the education and research conducted here. Our action plan for internationalization describes how increased international contacts, mainly focused on Europe, are intended to contribute to strengthening the quality of course offerings, lectures and also to contribute to students who for various reasons do not have the opportunity to participate in mobility initiatives still get a international dimension to their education, including by welcoming incoming students. And it does. Participating in the program is incredibly valuable as it helps us in our endeavor to advance our positions in our internationalization work. One of our overall goals is to be able to offer our students some kind of international experience within their education, in order to contribute to an increase in their academic skills and employability. Also we think that it contributes to a greater understanding of the work that takes place within the European Union around issues such as green and digital transition, our common values and more. The Erasmus program plays an invaluable role in this work. The new opportunities within the program with shorter blended mobility, both for groups and on an individual basis, has opened up opportunities for even more students/group of students to participate in the program, something we appreciate a lot as it is in line with what we would like to achieve with taking part in the Erasmus+ program.
