At Karlstad University we aim to make internationalisation an integral part of our operations and our day-to-day work. One of our ambitions is to help all students become more international, competitive and equip them with the skills needed to be successful and play an active role in society, by learning foreign languages, acquiring intercultural skills and adopting international perspectives and values. Through the project students can get financial support to be able to achieve these goals, which enables our institution to offer inclusive internationalisation to our students. We also seek to increase internationalisation amongst staff to make the university as a whole more aware of, and sensitive to, international perspectives. These investments will not only be beneficial on a personal level, but also on the organisational and societal levels, as both staff and students operate in various ways, and in different roles, on all these levels. The implementation of the project is an effective way to achieve these goals, by increasing mobility and the opportunities for internationalisation, and to promote European values generally. It connects directly to our action plan for internationalisation as well as our strategic vision for 2030, indicating a high engagement of internationalisation. Through the programme we are given the opportunity to collaborate with partners and engage in networks both within Europe and worldwide. Through the international dimension, increased opportunities for doctoral students and short blended mobility, we aim to further increase participation in international activities for all.
