Stockholm University, as a member of the European University Alliance CIVIS, applied for staff and student mobilities within the framework of the International Credit Mobility programme with each of the CIVIS' African partners in regions three and nine. The application was submitted in parallel to the other eight full CIVIS member institutions in an effort to contribute to an alliance-wide network of bilateral mobility schemes. These mobilities would enable students and staff to participate in short-term educational offers, such as summer schools, seminars, and PhD training courses. The Faculty of Science at Stockholm University applied for both incoming and outgoing student mobilities to further attract talented undergraduate students from both universities to participate in an exchange mobility within the framework of the programme.
