The University of Gothenburg (GU) provides a variety of internationalization opportunities to students and staff. We support engagement in meaningful, sustainable, responsible internationalization throughout Europe and globally, and with options that foster inclusion, such as short-term mobility and internationalization at home. Variety means students and staff can engage as best suits them, leading to broader inclusion. For mobility and collaboration outside of the Erasmus+ programme countries, Erasmus+ ICM (ICM) is an important funding source. GU has a bottom-up, decentralised approach. Departments and faculties apply for ICM funding that will contribute to subject-specific and broader project aims and build stronger partnerships, thus increasing and diversifying GU’s international reach. Each project therefore had its own goals. Project aims included reducing gender gaps, inclusion of indigenous voices, individual development, institutional development for both parties, and stronger internationalization. These will be addressed further in the relevant sections below.
