We wanted -to increase the European and international dimension of inclusive education -the students with fewer opportunities to feel included -to develop knowledge/understanding among students and educational staff of the diversity of European cultures -the students (and teachers) to gain a greater understanding of differences but also discover that, even though we come from different cultures, we also have many similarities between us -to break down the barriers of hatred and prejudices, fight against racism and xenophobia -to develop knowledge/understanding among students and educational staff of the diversity of European Common Values (especially democracy and equality) -to develop knowledge/understanding among students and educational staff of the diversity of European languages, to improve their English -to encourage and motivate students - and especially students with special needs - and teachers in language education, to find similarities in our languages, to improve their English -to allow students - and especially students with special needs - to approach tasks through creative approaches -to support teachers via sharing knowledge and exchange experiences -to acquire skills and competences for students´ better future
One main reason was the importance of increasing the degree of inclusion in general, but especially with focus on students with fewer opportunities. All partners had many disadvantaged students, students with fewer opportunities. We had common issues on tackling with diversity in educational environments and fighting against cultural prejudices among our native and newly arrives students. Through different strategies in the meantime we have tried to involve students with fewer opportunities, refugees...but unfortunately we have seen that many students still are excluded. How do we include students with fewer opportunities in a way that is meaningful to them? How do we include them in a sustainable way? With this project we aimed to support disadvantaged students by directly involving them in the planned activities. By organizing international LTT meetings (and other common activities between mobilities) we wanted to eliminate racism and discrimination. We also wanted to promote common EU-values which provide a basis for an inclusive society. Moreover we wanted all students to improve their language skills, to discover that gaining language skills give them a broaden competence for the future.
