During the project preparation phase, we analyzed the needs of our organization and determined the main areas of development and guidelines for the period of the next 5 years. The central goal of the European Development Plan is the internationalization of our school. Gimnazija in srednja šola Rudolfa Maistra Kamnik has been participating in hosting foreign participants for many years. We also plan internationalization through the mobility of our participants. In the future, we want to build on the experience of past projects. In the project Drugi obrazi Trsta, we defined two project goals. The first goal is to enable the possibility of inclusion for everyone, regardless of "deficits" or extraordinary achievements, to create a safe environment for the expression of individuality, needs, desires and achievements, and to achieve acceptance of the individual. The second goal is to raise social and intercultural competences, to strengthen the sense of community by improving knowledge about EU values, to discover the possibilities of active participation in democratic life and thus to achieve a higher quality of work.
Based on good past experiences with participation in the Erasmus+ program, we applied for our first project from the key activity1, as we wanted to expand the field of our activities in the program to our high school program gimnazija. Starting from the most important needs and challenges of the school, we prepared with reliable selected partners a high-quality design of the project and program mobility, which was based on inclusion in diversity, environmentally sustainable and responsible practices, active citizenship and participation in democratic life, all with the constant use of digital tools. As an educational organization that constantly recognizes society's needs for knowledge and skills and responds to them with quality education in a stimulating and friendly environment and with its mission to enable young people to actively and co-responsibly integrate into today's global and rapidly changing society, we recognized the effects of the Erasmus+ program and therefore decided to obtain accreditation also in the field of general education, as this makes the path to participation in international mobility and other forms of international cooperation even more accessible for our program gimnazija.
