1. Socially disadvantaged pupils and other students from the 4th till the 6th grade experience summer school camp by the sea. The objective has been achieved. 2. Foreign students from Balkans make friends in their mother tongue, others communicate in foreign language (Croatian or English). The objective has been achieved, even if our school partners were not as active in the role of hosts as we expected. Our students were meeting students from Korčula on their school yard and they were playing football and other sports. 3. Socially disadvantaged children improve their swimming skills. Because of the bad weather we had to restrict swimming lessons, but we managed to prepare some swimming lessons. According to the evaluation questionnaire, some students think they are safer swimmers after this mobility, even if we had less swimming lessons than planned. Unfortunately, we didn`t teach them swimming techniques. 4. Our pupils attend lessons in hosting school. 5. We host students from Korčula in a winter camp in the future, so they can try doing winter sports with our students. We tried to encourage teachers from our school partner to write the KA1 122 SCH application, which would provide the resources to visit us as an exchange.
We are Tabor Logatec elementary school. A school with a fairly diversified rural school district. We have a lot of students that come from larger families, from peasant families or from families with lower social status ... On the other hand, a lot of families from Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina or Serbia immigrate in our school district. We also have an asylum centre for families in Logatec. Both groups of children have less opportunities for traveling. We also notice that these children often don`t attend extracurricular activities. This might be because of lack of resources or because of the parents’ concern that the child might not fit in the group. Children with less opportunities also have weaker swimming skills because they have fewer opportunities to acquire these skills. This is why we decided to plan our mobility according to the objectives of summer school camps, as these pupils are often disadvantaged.
