Objectives

By implementing the project, we wanted to achieve two key goals for our institution. By sending employees to structured training and follow-up activities at the workplace abroad, we wanted to strengthen the professional competences of the school's managers and professionals, fill the gap that employees feel in their specific work areas, implement innovations in everyday work at our institution, raise the level of motivation of our employees and thereby contribute to improving the quality of the learning process. At the same time, we also decided to carry out group mobility of students, with which we wanted, as a school that puts emphasis on environmental education, to strengthen the awareness of students about the importance of environmental protection and nature conservation and about some aspects of a sustainable way of life. At the same time, we wanted to develop in students a permanent sense of responsibility towards the natural resources that surround us. We decided on selected international activities because we believe that to pursue our goals, an "outside" view of the chosen topic is crucial, and at the same time, this way of working offers many opportunities for the professional and personal growth of the participants.

Background

Our school consists of the main school in Tolmin, the branch schools in Volče and Kamno, and the branch school for the education and training of children with special needs. We are currently successfully cooperating in several national projects: the Eco, the Cultural and the Healthy School, we are also a part of the UNESCO network of schools. We recognized the Erasmus+ as an opportunity to effectively address our needs through international cooperation and to successfully pursue the goals we set. Our school has become an established part of the European map of educational institutions, we have strengthened ties with related institutions from foreign countries, which is an excellent prerequisite for the personal and professional growth of both, employees and students. We want to make it possible for employees and students to grow personally through various activities, make new contacts, overcome prejudices, strengthen their competences, develop their intercultural and interlinguistic awareness, and acquire competencies with which they can effectively and long-term enrich the learning experience. The project "A step into an innovative and green future" is a logical stepping stone on the European path we have started in 2021.
