Throughout the project, we have pursued three objectives. The first two goals are related to the professional development of teachers. The project aimed to gain concrete knowledge in the field of formative assessment in various subject areas and expertise in the field of ICT technologies in order to introduce the use of at least four online tools that support formative assessment methods in our regular pedagogical practice. The third objective was centred around the pupils, where a project group developed their digital competencies according to the formative assessment principles.
Teachers have been observing students' lack of motivation, a decline in reading literacy and, consequently, a decline in learning achievement for years now. All of this and the period of remote schooling during COVID-19, which showed that our teachers are modestly equipped with digital skills, prompted us to set several priority goals in the school’s new development plan, including new teaching methods and ICT technologies in the classroom. We are developing our goals in several ways, one of which is the present project “Inovativno v formativno” (Let's be innovative in formative).
