Our main project goals were to acquire and upgrade competences in the following areas: - the integration of new pedagogical methods respecting the needs of children through the programme INCREDIBLE YEARS - modern teaching methods such as CLIL, project-based teaching and learning, outdoor learning, authentic learning, STEM - effective inclusive programs for children with special needs - improved classroom management - improve staff members English communication skills Trainings abroad in the last few years have shown that this type of learning has the best outcome if each individual lives it as his/her own experience and nothing can truly substitute an authentic experience which allows one a deeper development of self, both professionally and personally. Our wish is that the school becomes a cosmopolitan and multicultural school of high excellency with high European awareness and experience of different culture. That is why we wanted to participate in as many mobilities as possible.
Rapid changes in society, the job market and ICT have had a major influence on youth which reflects on the changes in school environment. In the past few years, we have noticed that our students are part of the Digital Natives generation. But many have difficulties with basic life and communication skills, social competences, and concentration. There has been an increase in the number of students with different disorders, socio-emotional issues, learning disabilities or gifted students that are unable to adapt. Society expects many competencies: critical thinking skills, being able to communicate in foreign languages, the ability to resolve complex problems, lifelong learning skills, digital competencies, etc. Teachers have to answer to the needs of their students and develop these competences within their field of pedagogical expertise. With the project we want to empower teachers for teaching and educating students of the modern era.
