Objectives

Within the project, we established partnerships with organizations and institutions abroad, which enabled practical training for students in an international environment. We also organized international exchanges, providing students with opportunities to gain international experience, improve language skills, and learn about different cultures and customs. Additionally, it was crucial to enhance language competencies, especially those relevant to the profession. The project indirectly addressed activities to increase students' employability, such as work-based training, skill development competitions, and career guidance from various mentors. Through international experiences, acquiring practical skills, and participating in project activities, students developed greater confidence and independence both personally and professionally. The project also included systematic monitoring of students' progress, identifying support needs, and implementing measures to reduce dropout rates and ensure their successful integration into the educational process.

Background

GEPŠ Piran formulated a project within the framework of the Erasmus+ program with a focus on developing practical skills, international mobility, improving communication/language competencies, and overall personal and professional development of students. The fact is that the school has limited opportunities to organize training in the local environment, which would enable the acquisition of practical skills in the form of multi-day tasks on water. Additionally, the school has limited opportunities to organize nautical competitions for students, and comparison with other students, as it is the only maritime school in Slovenia.
