Schools today must equip students with knowledge, skills and competences that are useful for the labor market and guide them through the construction of their own identity, through personal development, and offer them additional opportunities for all of this. One of these is international practice. It is precisely the experience they gain during their internship abroad that boosts their self-confidence, as it confirms their high-quality professional knowledge and language skills in a foreign language as well. International exchanges are extremely important because they broaden students' horizons and enable them to get to know other cultures. With this, students learn to appreciate and respect differences, while at the same time becoming more independent and self-confident. The successful implementation of work practice abroad enabled the students to achieve the aforementioned goals. When the students completed work practice abroad, the students' motivation to work, curiosity, productivity and self-initiative improved. As a result, the quality of teaching also rises, which is reflected in increasingly higher goals and excellent results, which could curb the large outflow of young people to other educational institutions.
SIC Brežice was founded under the name Economic and Trade School Brežice. Today, in addition to the Secondary Vocational School, we also have a unit of the Higher School, where we teach two programs in economics and wellness. As part of the secondary school program, we have four verified educational programs: the tradesman program, the economic technician program, the pre-school education program, and the health technician program. There are currently 392 students enrolled in them, taught by 44 teachers. We regularly participate in competitions in the field of professional skills. We also organize school competitions, and the most successful students participate in national competitions, where they regularly strive for the highest rankings. We work closely with the local community, which is of great importance to us. We are a permanent partner in various projects organized by other institutions in the cultural, sports and professional fields. We are included in the group of UNESCO schools and in the Ecoschool project, we are active promoters of volunteering. SIC Brežice educates students from 15 to 20 years of age. The school's premises are arranged and accessible to students with physical disabilities.
