Objectives

By implementing the project we wanted to improve specific professional competencies in the students' professional areas which include resolving problems creatively using analytical or abstract approach. The next objective was related to improving digital competence which was of significant importance as students are required to master many digital programmes. By sending students abroad they had the opportunity to expand their lingustic skills and especially their professional language. In this way students overcome their fear of speaking in a foreing language. Furthermore by also sending students with special needs or less opportunities and different cultural background we aimed at bridging social and cultural gap. This awareness would help students to integrate into local environment (school, job) more openly and confidently as they would not longer perceive the cultural differences as a barrier. Our final objective was raising awareness about climate change and keeping a healthy environment. By following this objective during the mobility the students were able to transfer this mind set and way of living on other students, friends, local environment and the broader public.

Background

We are a school with a tradition of education in construction, geodesy, and environment. We participate in various professional associations and activities. We strive for activities that enable high-quality teaching, allow the acquisition of experience abroad, and create opportunities to exchange knowledge between education and the economy. The needs and challenges of our school arise from the assumption that, in addition to subject-specific competencies, modern educational programs should primarily ensure interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity, as well as the acquisition of key professional competencies that enable students to function successfully in various work environments and further education after finishing school. The essential content of our project is the identification of needs, innovations, and good practices in the local environment economy, and abroad, resulting in the adaptation of our open curriculum. Connecting theory and practice, expanding cooperation with partners abroad, and systematic development of the profession are key areas that we want to develop.
