The Higher Vocational School ŠCL is a young and small tertiary institution. The mobility is a key element of its internationalization abroad and at home. The aim is to expand expertise and comprehension in rapidly changing environment. Besides professional competencies, we have to develop resilience to fake news and stereotypes and experience that Slovenia has many developmental advantages in VET and quality of life, as well as opportunities for progress. Mobility contributes to a “beyond the fence” perspective and empowerment about EU role and values, E+ and ECHE key priorities. It increases social and societal sensitivity as well as the values of community, solidarity and inclusion, and more clearly presents the necessity of sustainable economic development (instead of unbridled growth). Mobility differentiates our students, staff and the school as a whole from others and contributes to its acknowledgment and development, which allows students to plan their future career and personal path more realistically yet boldly, while also raising their awareness of the importance of learning. It strengthens professional self-confidence and, when in contact with foreign business practices, indirectly modernises entrepreneurial concepts.
