Objectives

The main objectives were: 1. To transform a farm into an educational farm and a yard into an educational garden, creating multifunctional learning spaces with a focus on inquiry-based and problem-solving learning. 2. To develop high-quality teaching materials that support inquiry-based learning in both newly developed environments. 3. To promote knowledge about sustainability, scientific skills, and environmental awareness among children, parents, and professionals. 4. To strengthen cross-border cooperation and the exchange of best practices between Slovenian and Croatian kindergartens.

Background

The project was designed to address the growing need for education focused on sustainable development, science, and early childhood development. We recognized the importance of fostering respect for the environment and sustainable habits from an early age. The project aimed to provide children, educators, and parents with authentic learning experiences outside traditional classrooms. Therefore, specific learning environments such is educational farm and educational gardens were developed. Emphasis was placed on learning through exploration, particularly in natural settings such as educational farms and gardens, with the goal of influencing consumer habits and promoting ecological responsibility.
