With the results of the project, we aimed to expand and further develop the Global Education Teachers’ Club initiative, which supports teachers in developing and strengthening their competencies for educating young people about the global challenges of the 21st century and promoting shared humanistic values. We also aimed to increase the visibility of Global Education (GE) among the teaching community in the partner countries and beyond. To achieve these two aims, we pursued the specific objectives of: a) strengthening the capacities and competences of partner organizations in the field of GE and in working with teachers and other educators at a more advanced level; b) developing new GE resources and materials for teachers and other educators that enhance inclusive education and foster intercultural dialogue and sustainable development among young people; c) upgrading the existing initiative developed in Slovenia—the Global Education Teachers’ Club—and transferring it to three partner countries; and d) promoting and raising awareness of the importance of GE among teachers, other educators, and policymakers, and encouraging networking among relevant actors active in both formal and non-formal education.
With this project, we aimed to upgrade and transfer the award-winning initiative »Global Education Teachers’ Club«, originally developed in Slovenia, to three partner countries. The initiative is intended to support teachers in developing and strengthening their competencies for teaching young people about global environmental and social challenges, advocating shared humanistic values, and promoting responsible global citizenship. We also sought to enhance the visibility of Global Education (GE) among the teaching community and other relevant stakeholders. The project directly addressed teachers’ needs for high-quality teaching materials on GE—materials available in their national language—together with opportunities for additional training and for informal networking with other like-minded teachers and experts in the field. Furthermore, we aimed to strengthen the capacities of partner organizations to work with teachers and other educators in the field of critical GE, both through training programmes and national conferences and seminars, and through expanding our online databases and libraries with educational resources on GE topics and methods.
