Background

The United Nations has declared 2022 the International Year of Glass (IYOG2022) and the European Year of Youth. Glass is a natural material that can take thousands of forms... it is also a material that accompanies us every step of the way, it provides light in our homes (and figuratively - in life in general), it has a rich cultural and historical tradition, and it is indispensable in connection with natural science and environmental protection, as it can be used in many places to replace much more harmful plastics. The project "Glass inspires" (and inspires) touches on various areas that are important in the daily lives of the project participants. It connects with environmental protection (natural sciences), cultural heritage, different art forms such as music, dance, (improvisational) theatre, proverbs, stories and literature, foreign languages, handicrafts and creating with recycled materials, etc. It includes experiences and feelings during/after the corona epidemic and the war in Ukraine, while touching on the fragility of human life.
