The main purpose of the project is to offer young people the opportunity to create films together, get to know each other, expand cultural horizons, get to know the local environment and society, motivation for social engagement, critical observation of society in general, rethinking their position and role in society, and give them the tools to express their thoughts and feelings, sharing stories that marked or impressed them during their stay in Krško and during the intercultural cooperation of young people at the workshop. In Krško, we created a 13-day laboratory in the form of workshops, which would serve as an opportunity for young people to research social issues in the local environment (Krško, the Posavina region and beyond) in international teams and present their observations, feelings, inspirations in the form of short documentaries and experimental films. movies. We also designed the workshops as a place for self-reflection, reflection on one's own values and principles, breaking stereotypes and learning, getting to know young people from different countries and through them gaining information and insight into life in different parts of Europe and the world. In addition to making friends, we wanted to encourage young people to share experiences, skills and knowledge in connection with filmmaking. It is supposed to connect young people from different parts of Europe, who would ideally keep in touch even after the workshop and collaborate again in the future and possibly design further joint projects. It is also in our interest to encourage young people at the workshop to critically observe and reflect on society and its structures, to find out what and how young people think about, see society, which topics touch them the most and what they want to share or point out, which issues seem most important to them pressing in today's society. One of the goals is, not least, the creation of film products that would reflect the thinking and experiences of young people. The short films are a mirror to society, a picture of what the young people learned and experienced at the workshop. At the same time, they are also a document, a presentation of a small part of society through the lens of young participants from all over Europe. Films serve as motivation for young people to continue working, as they can share them in their narrower and wider social circles, at festivals and various online platforms and social networks. They are also proof of their creativity and social engagement, which will benefit them in their professional, artistic or academic career and enable them to create new contacts and networks. The resulting films can open debates on various social topics and draw attention to certain problems, and at the same time promote the positive values of the EU, which are based on respect for human rights, sustainable development, the rule of law, solidarity, social justice and tolerance for others. This time too, above-average short films were created at the workshop, which are already traveling to various international festivals around the world and presenting their message and part of society to a wide audience beyond local borders.
