With the project and its implementation of 20 activities (15 job shadowing activities, 3 trainings for youth workers (or 2 trainings and 1 seminar with a study visit), and 2 youth exchanges), we addressed 5 key objectives: Inclusion of young LGBTIQ+ individuals in activities, their informing, learning, and empowerment. Training youth workers and others working with young people to create an inclusive environment for LGBTIQ+ youth. Creating opportunities for young LGBTIQ+ individuals to actively engage in society on their own initiative. Strengthening the organization. Strengthening the youth sector. Providing a safe environment where young individuals can explore themselves, gain new knowledge, and expand their social networks has a profoundly positive impact on the quality of life for young LGBTIQ+ people. By involving them in activities, we supported them in self-acceptance, learning to advocate for their rights, and developing a sense of empowerment to stand against discrimination. The new knowledge and skills acquired during and after the project positively influenced the participation of young people in education and the job market. The strong social network and support they received, along with the advocacy mechanisms learned during the activities, will assist them in coping with potential challenges and unpleasant or threatening situations in the future. For the societal acceptance of LGBTIQ+ youth, it is crucial that individuals working with young people recognize and address their needs, creating a safe and inclusive environment. By educating individuals working with young people, both in the Association Parade of Pride and other organizations, the project contributed to a more accepting environment for LGBTIQ+ youth across the entire youth work sector. Such an environment is vital for young individuals to live authentically, develop confidence, fully participate in activities, and form genuine relationships with others. This contributes to them leading a quality life and actively engaging in society as both young and adult individuals. We firmly believe that enabling young people to take matters into their own hands is crucial in promoting their active social participation. This fosters independence, initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness. Providing such opportunities specifically for LGBTIQ+ youth is important, as it allows them to address specific issues that matter to them. The added value lies in the fact that young people created activities for other young people, connected with them, served as role models for self-acceptance and active engagement for a better world. We recognize these opportunities for young people as a crucial step in their growth into active and responsible citizens, understanding the importance of social participation. The organization's ability to operate consistently and qualitatively is crucial in addressing all other needs and challenges we tackle through our activities within the framework of accreditation and beyond. Organizational development enables us to conduct the highest quality activities for all participants, offer them all necessary support (including overcoming potential barriers to inclusion faced by participants with fewer opportunities), and provide (LGBTIQ+) youth with an inclusive environment that addresses their needs, enables learning in a safe space, and encourages and supports their inclusion in the organization and in life in general. Developing and strengthening the youth sector in Slovenia is crucial for consistent and high-quality work with young people and also influences the recognition of the importance of youth work in society, addressing the sector's needs to a greater extent. The field of youth work to which we pay special attention in our association is the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. Therefore, the methods and approaches we have developed and introduced into the Slovenian youth sector are largely focused on this topic. This means that through our work, we have worked on strengthening the sector's capacity to include and accept young people with fewer opportunities, address their specific needs, and combat discrimination. Working on strengthening the youth sector is particularly important to us as we recognize that by operating at a broader, systemic level, we enable the addressing of the needs of as many young people as possible.
