Objectives

During the one year-long project, our activities have promoted tolerance towards different vulnerable target groups, introduced young people to volunteering, and touched upon the topics of inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community, the Roma community, the elderly population, migrants, refugees, racial discrimination, religious discrimination, gender discrimination and cultural diversity. Environmentalism was included in the use of daily tasks and in the use of green travel by a large part of the participants involved. We spread tolerance towards vulnerable target groups through the learning about vulnerable groups and through the work actions we organised in Murska Sobota. Through the implementation of past projects, we have gained experience that working actions and direct involvement of young people are very useful for the acquisition of competences, experience and in the development of self-esteem in young people. We have again confirmed this and have prepared ideas and plans for future projects. Through volunteering and the arts, young people have gained further life experience that will help us to enter the labour market. The project organised various voluntary actions to promote tolerance, mutual help and solidarity, while building on our own competences and building international bridges between young people. Through events during the activities, involving the local environment, to the final event and the dissemination of the results of our project through online propaganda, we spread the message of solidarity and the fight against discrimination. Throughout the project, we placed great emphasis on the integration of the arts, through which the participants built their self-confidence and their self-image. The objectives of our project were: to learn about the concept of volunteering and its impact on the local environment, to learn about volunteering and good volunteering practices in the partner countries, to learn about concepts such as: Discrimination, hate speech, equality, minorities and cultural diversity, we learnt about vulnerable target groups (Roma community, LGBTQ+ community, refugees, migrants, elderly and homeless people), we learnt about youth and volunteering, we brought volunteering closer to the young participants, we developed the personal competences of the young participants, we developed the self-esteem and self-confidence of the young participants, we got to know the vulnerable groups through volunteering, we developed competences in organising events and working in a team, we got to know the vulnerable target groups in Pomurje whom we visited and helped through volunteering. We also tried to help the young people to cope with their stress, ailments and depression, which had been plaguing them for the last two years, through the activities. Through our actions and activities, we also attracted those who wanted to learn how the new Erasmus+ programme works.
