Objectives

The latest data from November 2021 showed that the unemployment rate in the EU-27 in the 18–25 age group was 15.4%, and in the EU area it was 15.5%. The reasons for unemployment were different, considering that young people were not looking for employment and that in that period some young people were studying and were not interested in school and work at the same time. One of the key reasons was the need for more opportunities (poorly developed functional skills of young people, inadequate offer of jobs on the labor market). Skills are essential for employability and prosperity. The right set of skills has eased the way to quality jobs and contributed to the full potential of an active citizen. They are a driving factor for growth and job creation. Nevertheless, the situation in Europe is alarming. The European Skills Agenda argued that the particular struggle for young people, who could enter the labor market, is a major challenge. The data showed that more than half of the 12 million unemployed are considered low-skilled. Especially after the outbreak of COVID-19, the acquisition of digital skills has become imperative to reduce long-term unemployment and ensure the safety of job seekers. In addition to digital skills, strong indicators have shown that transversal skills—communication skills, teamwork, problem solving, study skills, and planning and organizational skills—are essential for getting a job.The goals of our project were:1. promoting a better understanding of the labor market and the necessary skills to join it;2. Raise awareness of the importance of digital and transversal skills for obtaining employment;3. To develop proactive behavior and entrepreneurial spirit among the participants;4. Promote Erasmus+ as a program that supports the employment and strengthening of young people's competences;5. To create better responsiveness to cultural diversity and a better understanding of European projects and EU values.
