The youth exchange, which took place in Slovenia in November under the name first step with partner organisations from Slovenia, Lithuania, Turkey and Romania, involved 30 young people and lasted 10 days. The theme of the youth exchange was how to give young people a first step towards employment, and we discussed youth unemployment, rural development, formal and non-formal learning. We also learned about examples of good practice. Through the exchange, we got young people to start thinking about their future employment and to acquire their non-formal skills and competences already during their education, and in this way young people also learned about the advantages of a rural environment.
