The aim of the project was to increase the capacity of experienced youth workers to empower young people in environmental protection and initiative development, and to enable them to engage with other young people and the wider public. The project was important because environmental issues were not addressed in a way that would motivate young people to actively combat climate change and increase their sense of environmental responsibility. Youth workers were empowered with the knowledge to better address environmental issues with young people, and participants gained additional knowledge and skills in youth work through their participation in the project. The #missdreves initiative from 2021 in Maribor was carried forward in the mobility to familiarise participants with all the working phases of planning and implementing inclusive initiatives to raise awareness among young people and the general public. The activities provided participants with theoretical and practical knowledge to improve their youth work and contributed to the professionalisation of the youth sector by transferring initiatives and good practices to their local environments. Special emphasis was given to digital youth work and youth workers were introduced to methods for modernising youth work. Project objectives: - Empower youth workers to develop initiatives involving young people and the wider public independently. - train youth workers to identify the social needs of young people - to realise the project idea #missdreves - develop additional ideas to tackle environmental issues with the support of youth workers - take environmental initiatives into the local environments of the participating organisations - increase the digital skills of youth workers in developing initiatives and addressing environmental issues.
