Objectives

By carrying out the project, we wanted to offer a high-quality and unique international experience of the Wood Badge course to 24 participants (together with a team of 28 participants), of which 17 (with a team of 20) were from foreign countries, who could not get it within their national organizations because they do not organize such international course. With the project, we wanted to connect otherwise related, smaller organizations that, however, operate in very different environments. In this way, we wanted to further enrich the unique experience for the project participants – volunteers - youth workers. Our common goal is for at least 5 participants from each of the partner organizations to take part in the training, who would, through their further work, enable the quality of work to be raised within their national scouting organizations. As part of such a course, we wanted to offer the participants the opportunity to learn first-hand about the differences and similarities between scouting and working with young people in other countries. We measured the goal through the number of different participating national scouting organizations. Twenty-five participants deepened their understanding of scouting by learning about the mission, vision, personal values and values of organizations that use different methods and activities, and thus also their personal desire to spread the mission among young people as volunteers. In this way, we wanted to respond to the need of young workers, how to prepare a quality program that will be interesting for members. We gave the participants all the necessary knowledge to implement a scouting program consistent with the Youth Program and the scouting method. We measured the goals through evaluation with the participants. We have set ourselves the goal that the participants will acquire and improve leadership and management skills, with which they will raise the organizational level of their local or national organizations. With the help of these skills, they have had a positive impact on other volunteers in their local organizations. We measured the goal by observing the progress of the participants, by evaluating with the participants and by monitoring the work of the participants in local organizations during the 1st and 2nd activities. One of the goals was for the participants to successfully complete a personal project of their own choosing, with which they set themselves a personal challenge and respond to the needs of their local or national scouting organization. Through these personal projects, we pursue multiplier effects, as the desire is that the participants primarily address other volunteer youth workers with the projects, not directly members of the organization. In this way, we want to improve the quality of work with young people and the organizational level of other organizations. We measured the goal through the monitoring of implemented and completed personal projects. By organizing a quality course and passing on experience, we want to extend the period of individual volunteering. We have (and will) measure the goal by checking whether all participants remain active members of their national youth organizations.
