Since its inception, Aspira has been developing its activities in a very strategic way, making sure that all our activities follow our vision, mission and values. We want to develop and work in a holistic approach to both the young people and the prefessionals who work with them, trying to address all aspects of the individual through our activities and to show them areas of potential development. The theme of multiple intelligences has been with us since the beginning of our work, when we developed the first training for youth workers, which was developed around this theme and addressed kinetic intelligence through dance and body movement. With this project we have also followed our strategy to weave the concept of a multi-intelligence model into all our activities and our daily work with young people and youth workers. We start from the current needs, which are still affected by the corona crisis, and we perceive the need for personal development and skills to support young people in their personal growth, both as youth workers and as mothers. The MSS (Youth Council of Slovenia) opinion paper MSS-youth-mental-health-MSS-003-21.pdf, on young people's mental health, talks about the need to develop prevention programmes based on healthy self-image and relationships to help young people cope and survive various adversities. Both interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence skills are defined as two forms of emotional intelligence skills that Emotional intelligence skills key to navigating COVID-19 (universityworldnews.com), so we decided to focus on these two intelligences in this training as they are very close and it is difficult to draw a clear line between them. We want to support young people as individuals, each with their own talents, strengths, where each can develop and strengthen different intelligences, not only the intelligence quotient (IQ), which is the most exposed. In this respect, we draw on the research of the aforementioned H. Gardner, who developed the concept of multiple intelligences, which make up the human mind. Gardner identifies linguistic, mathematical-logical, visual-spatial, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, as a sense of nature and an existential centre (https://isio.acs.si/doc/N-485-1.pdf). For us, however, the decentred concept is dealt with by Gržan. The situation with the kovid crisis, which brought all these challenges to the surface, has now at least superficially subsided somewhat, but the consequences remain, so it is important to understand young people as well as possible, to understand their minds, how they work, what helps them to work well, what frustrates them or is counter-productive for them. This requires intrapersonal intelligence (what works for me and how) and interpersonal intelligence (how can I help my child, sibling, friends, young people in general, etc.) (source: educationpostonline.com). So far, we have acquired knowledge (methods and techniques to strengthen) kinetic and visual-spatial intelligence, or imaginative-creative intelligence. In this training, we have combined the two intelligences of the inner personal and the interpersonal. Because we want to get better at our work as youth workers ourselves, and at the same time support young people to become the best version of themselves in these fast-changing times, to be able to listen to and trust each other, to be able to hear others and to work constructively with them. That is why, with the help of the excellent trainer Tatjana Verbnik Dobnikar, we have presented to youth workers, youth leaders and others who work with young people methods and techniques to strengthen these two intelligences. From this, we want to develop a whole package of support and strengthening of multiple intelligences among young people and to share these methods with other sectors, especially the formal education sector. . The project was designed to: To empower youth workers to become key actors in their local communities to strengthen interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence in young people. The OBJECTIVES of the project were: To empower 22 youth workers with methodologies to strengthen interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence to work better with young people. To provide youth workers with the knowledge and skills to adapt the methods to virtual and face-to-face activities and to the different target groups (teachers, parents, peers, etc.) relevant to young people's lives. The project ACTIVITIES were: Training for youth workers on interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence (5 days and 2 days of travel). Activity after the training - each partner will implement one activity in their local community for the target group, the so-called intelligence. The project results are: 25 Youthpass certificates issued. Short recommendations for implementing activities at the local level on the theme of strengthening these two bits of intelligence, taking into account the online and offline activities.
