Objectives

The realization of this project aimed to improve the language and communication skills of participants in both the Spanish and English language, in order to enhance communication with Spanish teachers within the bilingual section and when organizing international projects. Through the exchange of experience during job shadowing, we expected to adopt new methodological approaches and strategies that would contribute to the innovation and modernization of the teaching process, school management, and support for informal education and extracurricular activities. Through group mobilities, students were expected to enhance their language and communication skills in the Spanish language, gain personal experience from the school environment and daily lives of their peers in Spain, and deepen their knowledge and understanding of the Spanish culture. Participation in mobilities was intended to strengthen intercultural understanding, foster mutual empathy and tolerance, and simultaneously motivate students in their demanding bilingual studies.

Background

As a school with a focus on foreign language education, which also offers education in a Slovak-Spanish bilingual section, we put great emphasis on providing our students with the opportunity to move and communicate in an international environment and to explore the factual background of the countries whose languages they are learning through personal experience. Equally, it is important to enable development of the professional competencies of our teaching staff, which allows us to modernize and innovate the educational process. Although our school has always collaborated with Spanish schools and lecturers given its specialization, we strive for greater internationalization and expantion of our cooperation with other countries. Therefore, our goal is to support our staff in developing their language competencies as well.
