We would like to further improve teaching of English in our primary school. The aim of this project was to enhance the digital competences of English teachers in primary school. We expected participants to familiarize themselves with new methods - mindmaps, webquest and online platforms - Storybirds, Wiki, WordClouds. Participants would also improve their communication skills in English through exchanging knowledge and experience with participants from different EU countries. This would bring greater self-confidence of the participants. We expected pupils would be more engaged and motivated as the lessons would become more interactive and enjoyable.
Our school is an institution that consists of kindergarten, primary school, and high school. The school's vision is to prepare individuals for life who are firmly grounded in their potential and the strength of their personality, abilities, and collaboration. We support the development of thinking and communication in the subject of English language. We have decided to improve teaching at the primary level. For a child at the primary level, the lessons should be engaging and enjoyable. The period of distance learning at our school has shown us that many of our teachers haven´t got necessary competencies to create captivating and student-motivating online lessons. During teaching, many teachers underutilize the computer with a data projector in their lessons, or do so ineffectively. This project will enhance the digital competencies of first-level English language teachers, which will propel us forward in our vision.
