Objectives

By implementing the project, we wanted to achieve support for the professional development of students, so that the students of our school have the opportunity to improve and develop their knowledge, improve their foreign language and teamwork. Our goal was to enable students to see and try making something that we cannot achieve in our conditions in our school cellar. Using innovative methods, realize and introduce students to the production of sparkling wine in the classic way. Since the Slovak legislation does not allow the production of distillates in secondary schools, they had the opportunity to see and try the fermentation processes of fruits and the production of distillates. We also wanted to ensure that students had the opportunity to participate in the preparation of cider from organic fruit on the production line on the campus of the school in Eisenstadt.

Background

Secondary vocational school of viticulture and fruit growing is a state institution that educates students in the field of viticulture, viticulture and fruit growing. This project "Mladý vinár" is aimed at practical training of students in viticulture, winemaking and fruit growing, improvement, development and acquisition of new abilities, knowledge and skills in the given field, improvement of communication in a foreign language. These experiences will help students in preparing for their future profession and will later be better applied on the labor market, whether at home in Slovakia or abroad. The project offered students to directly participate in the production of wine, sparkling wine using the classic method, the production of grape must and grape distillates, and the opportunity to learn how to work in a greenhouse. Part of the project is not only practical teaching at the partner foreign school, but also getting to know important wineries, visiting the winemaking laboratory and getting to know the region of the partner school of the LFS Weinbauschule Eisenstadt project in Austria.
