Objectives

Erasmus+ KA131 (formerly KA103) mobility projects have been an integral part of the processes at UCM (University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius) for many years, contributing to the fulfillment of the university's **Internationalization Strategy**, **Long-Term Development Plan**, and, more recently, the **Criteria for Filling Functional Positions**. UCM is committed to providing higher education aligned with international standards, adding value for both students and staff. International experience is a key component of this added value. The projects support the development of international collaboration in higher education and personal growth through mobility, with a side effect of attracting international students to UCM. Another critical goal is the **internationalization of research and innovation**, facilitated by short-term physical mobility of PhD students, which links higher education with research and innovation. Mobility experiences for staff, especially academic staff, are valuable for networking, leading to joint projects and publications. Non-teaching staff benefit from professional development, gaining new experiences, and applying best practices in their daily work. There is growing interest among staff to participate in language stays. Students consistently rate their mobility experience positively, with many taking advantage of Erasmus opportunities at every level of study through a combination of study and internships. This demonstrates the program’s significant contribution to their professional and personal development. These individual benefits help UCM create a modern international environment, comparable to foreign universities, fostering openness, tolerance, and higher levels of inclusion. UCM is committed to providing equal opportunities for all students and staff to participate in mobility, particularly those with fewer opportunities due to economic, social, cultural, geographic, or health-related reasons. By applying non-discrimination principles in the selection process, UCM not only increases the number of mobilities but also fosters internationalization by welcoming a growing number of foreign students and staff as participants. The university has successfully raised awareness about support for those with fewer opportunities, with a higher number of participants benefiting from this support than in the past. UCM aims to continue increasing mobility participation among those with fewer opportunities. Students are regularly informed of these options and are showing increasing interest. There is also growing interest in using sustainable transportation and digital transformation, both in terms of developing digital competencies and maximizing the digitalization of mobility management.
