The aim of the project was to encourage students, staff, and graduates of the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice to increase their interest in studying or working abroad in the post-COVID era. It sought to boost participation not only among those who hadn’t yet taken advantage of the Erasmus program, but also for those looking to build on their previous international experiences. Participants were motivated not just by financial benefits but also by the legal support provided under the Erasmus Charter, ensuring ethical treatment and a high-quality framework for all involved in the mobility program. Through the Erasmus project, students, staff, and graduates in 2022 had the opportunity to broaden their knowledge in veterinary medicine and pharmacy, both in theoretical and practical areas. The program also enabled the creation of new partnerships, which expanded opportunities—particularly for students—to study at various new host institutions, primarily across Europe. The opportunity to travel through the Erasmus program benefits not only the participants but also the host and sending institutions, enhancing the appeal of both. The program also helps participants improve their language skills. The primary goal of the project is to provide students and staff with a chance to broaden their knowledge, experience new teaching methods, immerse themselves in different cultures, and build connections with new colleagues and peers. The project provides students and staff with the opportunity to advance in their fields and gain valuable knowledge and experience that might not have been possible without the chance to travel. For staff mobility, the Erasmus program offers significant benefits, particularly in fostering research collaborations and forming new partnerships between universities. Through the project, employees have the chance to not only deepen their theoretical knowledge but also enhance their research through the advanced technological resources available at the host institution. Many graduates of our university also benefit from the Erasmus program. For them, the opportunity to travel abroad and acquire new skills and experiences is a significant advantage. Graduate internships provide valuable professional experience, allowing them to enter the job market with fresh expertise and insights that are highly valued by employers.
