Objectives

The aim was to expand and deepen cooperation in Regions 2 (Belarus, Ukraine), 3 (Egypt), 4 (Russia), and 10 (Venezuela) through academic exchange, capacity building, joint educational and research activities, and long-term partnerships with emphasis on quality, inclusion, and development support. Implementation was affected by external circumstances – the military conflict in Ukraine, political unrest in Venezuela, and, the withdrawal of 41% of mobilities from/to Egypt due to an error of the funding provider, (amendment to the Grant Agreement). TUKE reacted promptly by adjusting objectives and focusing on cooperation with Ukraine and Venezuela in technical sciences, ICT, civil engineering, energy, mechanical engineering, sustainable design, environmental engineering, academic freedom, and social responsibility. Cooperation with the Venezuelan university opened new opportunities in Latin America, particularly in geosciences and raw materials engineering. Staff mobility supported exchange of expertise and preparation of future student mobilities. Despite the withdrawal of Egypt, TUKE maintained its interest in cooperation with the Southern Mediterranean region and confirmed its commitment to develop partnerships beyond the project.
