The goal of the partnership was to improve the behavior of the participants towards socially responsible behavior, responsible consumption, and environmental protection. We motivated the participants to participate more in the life of the local community and to help vulnerable groups of residents and supported the students' critical thinking, both in relation to learning and their own behavior. By implementing this project, we wanted to achieve several key goals that would contribute to the improvement of the educational process, the personal development of students and teachers, as well as to the strengthening of the local community and sustainable development. An important goal was to update and modernize educational areas. We wanted to connect formal and informal education, support problem-based, experiential and participatory learning, which would enable pupils to develop their creativity, responsibility, organizational competence and engagement. In the end, we wanted to create valuable outputs and teaching materials that could be used in the educational process even after the end of the project and contribute to the long-term development of our school and community.
The motive for implementing the project was the identification of several needs that had to be addressed in education and the local community. They felt the need to update educational areas, especially within environmental education, consumer literacy and human rights education. We also wanted to link formal and informal education in order to support the comprehensive development of the pupils' personality – their creativity, responsibility, organizational competence and engagement. Another key need was the modernization of methods and forms of education towards problem-based, experiential and participatory learning. The project was designed to allow us to exchange experiences with partner schools and transfer best practices to our educational programs. The partnership was made up of proven partners Spojená škola in Detva, Secondary Vocational School and Secondary Vocational Technical College, Třemošnice and Regional Center Edukacji Zawodowej w Nisku. Participation in the project allowed us to address these needs through various activities and outputs, which not only contributed to the development of our students and teachers, but also to the strengthening of the local community and wider regional development.
