The aim of the project was to create innovative multilingual content and study materials for both theoretical and practical courses focused on gastronomy and food science. Its clear objective was to integrate Ukrainian students into the educational process at the participating universities by developing teaching materials and instructional videos in both the language of the host country and in Ukrainian. This approach was intended to facilitate their professional training, enhance their understanding of specialized subjects, and improve their interaction with university lecturers. This mutual learning process strengthened intercultural exchange, improved the quality of teaching, and contributed to greater inclusiveness and openness within the academic environment at the participating universities
During the project preparation phase, the partners were confronted with a sudden and significant influx of refugees from Ukraine, a considerable number of whom were university students admitted to the partner institutions. The language barrier, for which these students were unprepared, posed a major challenge to their integration into the educational process—particularly in mastering specialized terminology in gastronomy and food science, as well as during practical laboratory exercises. Both students and educators were therefore compelled to work together to find ways to overcome these difficulties and to create an inclusive environment in which all participants could develop effectively. Simultaneously, the partner countries experienced a deficit of qualified professionals in the food and gastronomy sectors, resulting from the prolonged impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the changing dynamics of the labour market
