The European Dialogue supports youth workers and young people on their journey to be knowledgeable in various topics so that they can deliver high-quality youth work and other activities, and to be the tolerant educated individuals, who have a spirit of initiative, care about their environment, and actively contribute to positive developments in their communities or societies through online and offline participation tools. These people can then easily inspire and empower young people to be active citizens developing their own projects and initiatives. The ED puts an emphasis on media literacies, critical thinking, responsible use and creation of media as well as coping, overcoming and addressing different challenges that the current world is bringing for the youth workers. This mission and approach were behind the three activities implemented in 2023, which contributed to achievement of objectives set in the accreditation plan. First training was Symphony of Media Literacies with the main focus on media literacies including critical thinking, effective methods of verifying facts, using innovative tools as story maps, as well as creating quality, modern, and engaging media content. It took place from March 27 to April 2, 2023 at the Na Mlyne guesthouse in Hrnčiarovce nad Parnou, which is located literally a few hundred metres from Trnava. A total of 25 youth workers and young leaders from Slovakia, Belgium, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Italy took part in the training. Second training - Civic Survival Kit: Through Active Citizenship Towards Better Tomorrow. It took place from April 24 to May 1, 2023, with a goal to strengthen and develop the civic participation of youth workers and, of course, the young people they work with. Again, in the premises of Penzión Na Mlyne in Hrnčiarovce nad Parnou, we hosted participants from Lithuania, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia. This diversity of nationalities and cultures created a unique environment for the exchange of experiences and ideas. The third training, Tick Off the Challenges, Be a Role Model, held from July 10 to 17, 2023, at the same location, Penzión Na Mlyne in Hrnčiarovce nad Parnou, aimed to equip participants with a wide range of essential competencies relevant to contemporary youth work and its challenges. The program addressed conflict resolution, mental health, sensitive topic handling, strategic planning, ethics in youth work, diplomatic communication, debating skills, media literacy, and problem-solving tools, enabling them to navigate the challenges of today's world effectively. All of the training events addressed several policy priorities, first of them being EU youth goals. Since their topics - media and information literacy and active citizenship - are interconnected and influence each other in reality, specific thematic focus of the training was on goals number 4 - Information & Constructive Dialogue and 9 - Space and Participation for All. At a general level, they also corresponded to number 1 - Connecting EU with Youth, because the European Dialogue, like during its other activities, was presenting various opportunities and good practices from across the EU, and number 8 - Quality Learning, as the programmes were designed to provide informative and engaging sessions led by experts in their fields and relevant study visits showing best and inspirational practices. The third training was about a quality youth work and it was very much interconnected with the goal number 5 - Mental Health & Wellbeing.
