The targeted goal of implementing the project is to increase teachers' knowledge about climate change and enable them to teach this subject more effectively to students. With the project implementation, goals have been set to reach teachers, students, parents, and indirect participants, aiming to raise awareness and inform about human activities causing environmental effects such as climate change and global warming. Within the project scope, a minimum of 50% improvement in teachers' awareness levels is targeted. With this improvement, teachers will enhance their general knowledge, recognize relevant resources, and produce environmental and nature-related content or educational activities more effectively. As a result of teachers' awareness and information, more conscious and effective information is targeted at students, parents, surrounding schools characterized as indirect participants, and the institutions and organizations contacted during the project dissemination phase.
The content of the project is designed to increase teachers' awareness of climate change and provide more effective education to students on this subject. In our project, we identified that teachers especially lack sufficient knowledge about climate and climate change. The analysis studies have revealed that teachers' awareness of climate change is at a low level, consequently hindering them from effectively conveying the subject to students. In this context, the project encompasses various training activities such as EU-sized courses, on-the-job observations, expert calling activities, and in-service training. Within the course scope, a process beneficial to students regarding climate change and global warming was developed for institution teachers, and the process was conveyed to teachers through the game and gamification education model. Teachers had the opportunity to observe studies conducted in Europe through on-the-job observation organization within the school environment. The project, built on an infrastructure aiming to establish a basis for studies that could serve as an example for students, participants, and indirect participants, was efficiently realized.
