The Erasmus+ program has been the flagship program for KU to reach its goals defined in its Internationalization Strategy. In terms of “excellence in global education for all students”; providing opportunities to our students to experience other cultures as well as the benefit of the rigorous education offered by partner institutions are vital. Similarly, attracting and hosting international exchange students at KU gives us a chance to introduce our own culture and quality of education and help us reach the strategic goal of “attracting and supporting international students”. Having international students at our campus and in our classrooms facilitates the internationalization of the curriculum as well as our efforts on internationalization at home. The Mobility opportunities that we offer for staff members via the Erasmus+ program facilitate “staff internationalization”, and the academic connections formed through these mobility activities serve to “increase KU’s international research power” through the formation of joint research programs/projects. Overall, KU can create and sustain partnerships with the leading institutions in Europe via the Erasmus+ program and thus “raise its international profile and reputation”.
