Objectives

Migration is the geographical movement of human communities by moving from one settlement unit to another to spend all or part of their lives due to religious, economic, political, social and other reasons. Moving for personal reasons and all the goods transferred during this time are called migration. As in many developing countries, migration is among the main problems of a country. The basis for this is the transition to mechanization in village life and the increasing importance of industrialization in the country. In addition, inadequate educational conditions have driven people to the city. Lack of sufficient health conditions in villages is also among the main factors of migration. Between 1846 and 1932, 18 million British, 10 million Italians and 5 million Germans immigrated to new continents. Between 1821 and 1924, 55 million Europeans changed countries, 34 million of whom chose the USA. Various migrations occur between countries and within a country due to reasons such as unemployment and living in better conditions. These create major problems that become difficult to solve over time and disrupt the political, social, economic and cultural balances of countries. Turkey is among the countries that experience these problems the most and try to solve them due to large amounts of migration from villages to cities. Migrations can be classified in various ways. The general purpose of the "Documentary about the Lives of Immigrant People" project is to raise awareness about the lives of immigrant people by conducting research on the "Migration" situation and types detailed above, by making a presentation of this information and presenting it to the project participants, and through various events organized. The aims of the project are to try to understand immigrant people and conduct research on this, to draw attention to immigrant people and carry out youth activities on this subject, and to improve communication skills. Another aim of the project is to take a current and prominent issue about immigrant people as a topic of discussion and encourage participants to think about this issue and express their opinions. The specific aims of this project are; -Raising Awareness: To ensure that the society develops more awareness on this issue by announcing the difficulties and experiences of immigrants to the public. -Drawing Attention to Immigrant Rights: To raise awareness for respecting the human rights of immigrants and to defend these rights. -Highlighting the Contributions of Immigrants: To emphasize the contributions of immigrants to society and economy and document these contributions. - Promoting Cultural Exchange Among Immigrants: Promoting cultural diversity by supporting immigrants to preserve and share their cultural identities. -Providing Solutions to Immigrants' Problems: Finding practical solutions to the problems faced by immigrants and reducing these problems. -Research and Producing Information: To collect more information and data about immigrants, to conduct research on this subject and to share this information with the public. Presentations about the migration situations determined in the background of the project were prepared, discussion topics were determined with their explanations, and materials and equipment that would be needed in the activities planned to be held in the project were determined and prepared.
